CMC was definitely one of a kind from the get-go A lot of what really shaped me, and helped me become the confident person I am today is the community of people that I had around me As a Science and Management major I studied both Chemistry and Economics and so one of the beauties of CMC was that you could dive in both of those and not have to isolate yourself There are so many outstanding graduates who did not have the resources to be able to afford a best in class education and only through the generosity of our donors and the college could we have provided such an outstanding opportunity for them Without the generous scholarships and financial aid that CMC provided me, I wouldn't have been able to attend such a great school, made all the great friends that I have and to really have the unique opportunities and experiences and I wouldn't be where I am today

Financially it is something really near and dear to me I was a financial aid student and that's really the only reason why my parents were able to afford me attending Claremont McKenna and so being able to provide that access to someone else, being able to be part of an institution that is providing that type of experience to another student in the same type of financial need is extremely important to me Participation is so important because there's a feeling of collective responsibility, collective leadership and so the amount doesn't matter in the end as much as that people are giving back Claremont was a really special place for me and I want to make sure it continues to be a special place and that other students have that opportunity as well I give to CMC because I know that there are other students who are just like me, who are dreaming big and want to come here and I want to make their dreams come true
